Gypsy Isle Publishing was created by writer/broadcaster Rebecca
Black. Rebecca has worked in the communications industry for over
twenty-five years, and has also kept busy writing fiction novels
and screenplays - one of which, "Discovering Emma", was produced
as a low-budget feature film in 1999.
Through the process of helping her mother publish two books,
Rebecca discovered she had more than a passion for writing - she
so enjoyed the experience of editing and preparing her mother's
manuscripts for the printing press, she decided to do the same
for herself and other authors struggling to be published. The result
of her passion is Gypsy Isle Publishing, a company that provides
a nurturing, supportive environment, encouraging emerging and
established writers to follow their dreams.

The name "Gypsy Isle" combines two elements that are important
to Rebecca Black. Her roots stretch across the Atlantic Ocean to
England, where her maternal great-grandmother, Sarah Morton, was
a proud Roma gypsy. Rebecca credits much of her own creative
passions for traveling, writing, and all things historical
and spiritual, with her Gypsy heritage.
And much like a gypsy herself, Rebecca spent many years moving from place to place across Canada with her
radio career, finally settling down in beautiful Prince
Edward Island, Canada. Thus, she could not resist the urge to
include her favourite "Isle" in the company name, as well.
As we welcome more and more authors into the fold, Gypsy Isle
Publishing will offer readers a wide variety of titles to enjoy,
including romances, historical fiction, and young adult novels.
