MUSIC FESTIVAL!
For the third year in a row, the Cavendish Beach Music Festival presented world-class country music entertainment in the region's most popular festival vacation destination. Trace Adkins, opened the festival to screaming fans! Backstage Country Confidential's Rebecca Black chatted with the performers, including Deric Ruttan. Deric's lastest album "Sunshine" is available now, and he certainly brought the sunny Nashville skies with him to Canada! Deric also enjoyed an east coast lunch just out side Charlottetown, P.E.I. He told Rebecca that while enjoying a lobster roll, he texted his wife back in Nashville to "rub it in" a little. She's a lobster lover...and Deric knew she'd be envious! Up-and-comer Marshall Dane also arrived at the festival for a performance on the Coronaville Kitchen Stage. And watch for Vancouver's "Hayley". A guitar player in Chad Brownlee's band (Chad played in Cavendish too!), Hayley is just now starting to break out on her own. She made a special appearance on the festival's main stage, and with her music just now breaking out on iTunes...we'll be hearing lots more of this country gal, who kicked up her heels as she chatted with Country Confidential over the weekend. Hayley admits to owning seven pairs of cowboy boots! She blamed it on those darn “buy one, get two pair free” deals in Nashville!
Also appearing in Cavendish, Canada's country sensation Johnny Reid, eight-time GRAMMY WINNER Ricky Skaggs, three-time GRAMMY winner and the the ONLY artist to hold three or more consecutive awards as Male Vocalist of the Year by the Country Music Association and Academy of Country Music - Brad Paisley. And as if that wasn't enough, Toby Keith (who turned 50 the same weekend of the festival) closed the event with a rare maritime appearance on Sunday, July 10th!
